I'm not a great fan of makeup but might need to use it soon at a friends wedding?

how do i go about it and how do i start? where do i start? heeelp!I'm not a great fan of makeup but might need to use it soon at a friends wedding?
Go to a salon or department store that sells makeup and get a free makeover. Expect to purchase one or two products, but you'll get a dramatic face for almost free and you won't have to buy a bunch of products you're only going to use once.

Whether you have your makeup done for you or do it yourself, I suggest starting with a mineral-based product such as i.d. or similar. They're just crushed minerals, so they don't weigh down your skin, and they give you a very natural look.I'm not a great fan of makeup but might need to use it soon at a friends wedding?
My suggestion would be

get some good concealer... www.bodyshop.com

They have a concealer crayon that works excellent for me!!

The best bet would be to go to the actually place and have the sales assistant help find your color..

you can take your chances and order online though if you want

MaryKay and Avon probably have something for concealing also.. Check ebay for their stuff..

Basicly all you want to do is cover up all of your blemishes, put on alittle bit of mascara, if you are pale maybe dab on alittle blush and blend it in with a makeup sponge.. Brown eyeliner always looks very natural and fresh and works for most eyes so get some of that and line your bottom lid.. or top if you want (get the pencil kind)

I think if you just keep it to concealer,mascara,blush,lipgloss-balm

That should be fine!

I am a former Clinique Cosmetics Representative. If you live in an area with salons and dept. stores, shop around, make an appt. to learn how to use their products (makeover). Ask if a min. purchase is required. You need only the enhancing minimal (this low level will still deliver sticker shock). Make clear you are inexperienced with makeup; ask as many questions as you need and practice at the counter. Go alone, well meaning friends trend to ';muck up'; your instincts. I strongly advise you give yourself adequate time to practice after purchase, unless you have a trusted friend. Above all, DO NOT feel pressured to buy! Trust you to just be you; illuminated by your own artistic hand.
Don't use a lot of it.

1. Get an eyeliner, which you apply to the inner rims of your eyes on the bottom only (Brown or black will probably work best).

2. Coat your top lashes with some dark brown or black mascara.

3. Get some clear lip gloss and swipe it over your lips.

There you go. It's pretty, it's not hard, and it's really inexpensive. (Wal-Greens has good eyeliner for 99 cents, or Eckard has sets of NYC eyeliner with 2 pencils for 2 bucks...)

Good luck, and have fun at the wedding!!
i hardly ever wear make up - but when i dont use very much - i dont like to use any kind of foundations as i feel that it may make my skin bad - and if you dont need it why use it! I would say -eye liner - nice eye shadow - mascara and some lip gloss! Go onto the avon website - google - avon catalogue - and request a catalogue this doesnt cost anything - they have step by step guides on how to use some of thier products!!! Good luck!
I'm not a big fan of make up either these days. I used to wear a lot, but find a lot of it irritates me.

I expect you will be in the wedding photos and by wearing make up, you will look much better in the photos.

If this is the first time, or it's been a long time; I'd go to a make-up counter in a department store, and have a free make over. You can choose to buy what you want from them of course, or use their advice to get your own elsewhere. But since it's a special occasion, I'd get just the basics from them.

Concealer, light face powder, blush, (which you can use on cheeks and eyelids) a light lipstick or gloss, and mascara. You can also get a kohl pencil eyeliner to accentuate your eyes, and eyeshadow; but I find these aren't necessary. They can really bring out your eyes though.

The best I think is Clinique, because it's good for sensitive skin. They are also very good at matching up your colouring with the makeup.

You can get very natural colours from them.

On top of that, you'll probably want to get cleanser to remove the make up.

The make up will go on better if you put a good face moisturiser on before applying it, but it isn't necessary. A lot of what they sell you make up wise isn't necessary. You can probably get away with wearing just a lightly coloured lipgloss, if you really hate wearing makeup.
use:

some conceiler when needed

a little bit of blush (smile like an idiot and put it on the 'fat' part of your cheeks)

mascara

some gloss or even just a bit of chapstick
good
Tip 1: ask ur mom. moms have been wearing make up for years... plus they can see ur face more upclose and personal than u will ever see ur own (even with a mirror)

Tip 2: go to a department store. in most department stores (in AUS at least) u can get a makeover done for about A$30 and u usually get to keep the lipstick... book ahead so u will b dolled up especially for the day, some hairdressing salons also do make-up

Tip 3: less is probably more. dont wear eyeliner its too fiddly. Go for some moisturiser, then a nice foundation (a tinted moisturiser is probably best and is light and fresh), then maybe some eyemake-up (shadow and mascara... eyeliner is too fiddly) and a pale light lip gloss to finish.

Tip 3
It is too long to explain it all here;bcoz there are different and diverse make-up tips. And depending on your dress and wedding theme, you can choose for yourself if u go to this awesome website and learn;

http://beauty.about.com/od/makeuptips/.h鈥?/a>

Edit: I've been perfecting application of my make-up based on this website. I'm getting to be a pro!Keep practicing the tips in front of the mirror at home and wear the make-up all day to see how ur body chemistry reacts to the make-up.

Trusts me, many times we put on some new colour or new make-up to a party and when we go to the bathroom 4 hrs later u look like the bride of Frankenstein, bcoz make-up do change or get better with your chemistry. It doesn't always look the same later. Practicing at home helps you find out what suits you. Its cheaper when when u can do it yourself., and u can look good on your own anytime.

Good Luck!
If you want to use a minimal amount to keep it natural looking, start with a color of lipstick and mascara you think would blend with your skin undertones. If you want to brighten your eyes, select a base eyeshadow, preferably a contrasting color to your eye color if you want to highlight your eyes. To enhance the shape of your eyes, use an eyeliner as well. Blush and brow liners can be added on to shape the cheeks as well as the eyebrows. Let me know if you have questions, you're welcome to visit my avon webpage at http://www.youravon.com/dklobuchar
keep your make up nice and natural if you dont wear it dont go mad, keep it to a minimum, bit of foundation if needed a little bronzer for that sun kissed look a bronze, creamy or glod eyeshadow, with a bit of mascars and some nice lip gloss either clear or a soft brown,it depends to what your wearing if pink for instance try a shimmery pink eyeshadow and clear gloss if blue use a shimmering baby blue.go to boots, debenhams, house of fraser or body shop and ask a bit of advice for colours.enjoy your day im sure your get it right and look amazing.x
your featers help out alot the basics are: power, blush lip gloss(lipstick) your choice. you can also try true match it maches your skin type.
well since you dont really like it go w/ some lighter natural looking things.

start by applying a black mascara on your top lashes. this will make them long and luscious. then separate them w/ a lash comb. if you want to define your eyes a bit more put on a thin line of dark brown eyeliner and smudge it. this will give you a smoldery, but still natural look.

instead of foundation try a tinted moisturizer. its alot lighter but does the same thing as foundation. it will give you a dewy look. if you want apply alittle cream/mousse blush onto the apples of your cheeks in a light peachy color.

as for your lips just wear clear lipgloss.

in fact you dont even have to wear all of that, just go with the mascara and lipgloss. have fun @ the wedding.
It is always better to keep make-up to a bare minimum. If you can get away without make-up do so. Most men like women with their natural beauty.

So keep off the make-up. Just give your face a good old scrub to keep it glowing on the day. Smile and you will surely shine. Then you dont have to worry about smudging mascara or re-applying your lipstick, eyeliner and the whole lot.If I were you, id concentrate on what id wear and my hair!

Enjoy the wedding!
You don't need heavy foundation for one, cos I never wear it. Use a tinted foundation, something light. Then use a light shade of eyeshadow, nothing too dark and match it too your outfit. Match with a light lipstick and a touch of Waterproof mascara. you don't need anything dark if you arn't used to it. Good luck.
you should try bare essentials it is light and you cant really feel it on your face you can go to ulta and get it
Go visit Boots the Chemist.

Get E45 face cream to apply before the make-up.

Ask in Boots to be pointed to the Clinique counter (that being non perfumed make-up) Get a foundation, blusher, natural eyeshadows, mascara, lip liner and lipstick.

Ask for assistance - sometimes you can get a make over or the Boots employee will be able to advise you on colours suitable for you.
I dont know much about makeup, but my girlfriend looks wonderfull without it.

If you dont normally where makeup, I'm sure you will look great for the wedding without any.

Or, go to debenhams on the morning and get a free makeup session...

Buy a simple powder to dust on your face which will even out your skin tone and get rid of any unwanted oil.

Try a nice light pink blush and dust that on the apples of your cheeks.

Get some good black mascara (Covergirl or Maybelline) and apply 2 coats to both your bottom and top lashes.

If you want to do everything, you can put some black eyeliner on and dust some nice shimmery eyeshadow on your eyelids.

This is a simple and easy look that shouldn't take you too long. Hope this helps!
For brown eyes use shades of blue, for blue eyes use browns and smokey colors, and for green eyes use dark purple.
