What are your greatest makeup tips?

I am doing my makeup for prom (my dress is BRIGHT BLUE) and i need all the tips i can get! thanks! What are your greatest makeup tips?
Putting on makeup is such a personal thing. It really depends on the person. Here's what I'd do (my typical routine for going out):

1 - Try a mud mask a few days in advance, so you'll have time to take care of any blemishes that come up (they might, you never know).

2 - Pluck/wax your eyebrows in the morning, and don't wear makeup that day before you do your ';prom look.'; Washing your face then doing it all over again can be exhausting, and it's probably not that great for your skin.

3 - An hour before you're ready to go, wash your face. Use your toner if you like, and let your moisturizer set in for five minutes or so.

4 - PRIMER. Find some sort of primer for your face to make your makeup last. I use Prime Time by Bare Escentuals.

5 - After the primer is dry, conceal your trouble spots. Blend in your foundation (don't put on more than you would any other day - you're not going on television), and lightly conceal again if needed. Green concealer works well on reddish areas, and yellowish works well on dark circles.

6 - Set it lightly with powder. Don't take your compact with you to the dance, just take a mirror and blotting papers. If you can't find them toilet seat covers work well (trust me, if you're desperate enough you'll do it to :P).

7 - Curl your eyelashes. If you're using eyeshadow primer, put it on now and let it set.

8 - Put on your brow highlighter/eyeshadow base. I'd go with a neutral color with a slight shimmer. Glitter's overdone - you don't want to look at your prom pictures and think, ';Good GOD, what was I wearing??';

9 - Blend in the shadow color on your lids. I'd use a light, shimmery gray or brown, depending on your skin color.

10 - Line your eyes. Remember - if you're going heavy on lipstick, go light on the eyes, and vice versa.

11 - Blend in your shadow on the crease. If you used a light gray use a darker grey, if you're using a light brown use a darker brown. If you'd like to go over your liner with the dark shade of eyeshadow you can do it, but only if you're confident that it won't run off while you're dancing.

12 - Eyebrows. Fill them in lightly, and set them with brow gel.

13 - Mascara. Get waterproof/smudgeproof. I'm using some Cover Girl brand in a bright orange tube and it really isn't doing too bad, I'm actually quite impressed for $5.

14 - Lip primer (if used), lip liner (all over lips), and light gloss.

Have fun at prom! Remember - the classier you look, the less likely you'll be to look back and think, ';What was I thinking?';What are your greatest makeup tips?
I dont like foundation but i do wear concealer where needed %26amp; bronzer to give me a sunkissed look %26amp; it looks so natural. With your dress, dont pack on the makeup ie. foundation. I would accentuate your eyes (dark smokey look) %26amp; get fake eyelashes (easy %26amp; sexy), make it the focal point therefore keeping the rest bare minimal...no lipstick, just lipgloss %26amp; highlight your cheeks with bronzer.
If your going to wear eyeliner in the pencil form, soften the tip of it over a lit match for 5 seconds. This makes it much easier to apply and it stays on for much longer.

Pleaseeeeee do not wear blue eyeshadow or eyeliner unless your getting it done professionally
Used a green based concealer for red areas--I have mild rosacea on my cheeks and this is the only thing that makes my skin tone even.

Also, don't use much makeup on the lower eyelids. Maybe just brown liner applied in dots. That will only make you look tired at the end of a night of dancing.
these are everyday makeup tips but ill still tell:D only put eyeliner on the top, and mascara on the farther side of your eyes where your lashes are longest. and if you're going to wear eyeshadow, dont wear lipstick.
