What are some GREAT brands for makeup?

I consider myself good at makeup, and my friend doesn't wear any. But now she wants to start and wants to get a second opinion on good makeup. She wants to know what brands and products are the best. She likes how i do my makeup but she said it might not look the same on her and she doesn't want to try.

Clinique is the best makeup brand. It provides great coverage, but also doesn't cause breakouts (like MAC and Loreal's Bare Naturals Mineral Makeup). Plus, they have different products for different skin types (dry, oily, combination, etc.) so you know you're buying what's good for your skin.What are some GREAT brands for makeup?
i think that your friend just needs to try out a few brands and see which one is best for her, because not all brands are made for all people. . . either way, bare minerals and M.A.C. are the two that i recommend though.
Bare Minerals is the best ; it makes you look very natural and usually wherever you buy it they help you with choosing out shades and colors for your skin.
Mac is good for colors but not good for skin care and foundatino like products. Laura Mercier is good for skin and so is Clinque.
You can't go wrong with MAC. It's not very expensive and they show you how to do everything.
